It is a common misconception that people with normal/oily skin do not need to moisturize. Often people believe that moisturizing will further clog their pores. However, if you choose the right type of moisturizer for your skin, it will reduce the load so that your skin doesn’t need to produce as much oil.
Moisturizing to Reduce Oil
If you have oily skin, consider using our oil-free Matte Hydrator to keep your lipid barrier moisturized for longer so that your skin does not need to produce as much oil. Hyaluronic acid is a key component of your skin and can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water. It is strong enough to pull moisture off the surface of your skin and deliver it deeper into your skin.
If you have had issues in the past whereby the hyaluronic acid sat on your skin or created a sticky film, this is because the hyaluronic acid is too large to penetrate into your skin. The Matte Hydrator uses 100% medical grade ultra low weight hyaluronic acid so it easily penetrates into your skin where it can bring moisture into your skin.
Moisturizing for Skin Repair
Generally people with normal/oily skin do not have issues with irritation or flushing/blushing. However, if you have used a product that damaged your lipid barrier, use the Protective Moisturizer. It is loaded with peptides (amino acid building blocks) that help to repair your skin.
This formulation was originally designed for our users on oral acne medication. After a month of consistent use, you will find that your skin tone has improved and your skin is a lot less prone to irritation or flushing/blushing
Understanding Your Lipid Barrier
The topmost layer of your skin consists of dead skin cells that are held together by lipids. These lipids serve as a “mortar” that prevents chemical or biological irritants from entering the skin and to keep water and natural moisturizing factors from leaving the skin. People with oily skin tend to have a strong lipid barrier but it can be weakened if you use strong cleansers or acids that damage the barrier. It can also be stripped if you wash your face with very hot water.
Once the lipid barrier has been compromised, this area of skin can become dry, flaky, itchy, sensitive or can easily turn red. Accelerate the healing/repair by using Clearly Basics Protective Moisturizer in order to get your skin back to top condition.

@brittaneyshanae I swear the Power Duo (Clear Out and Lighten Up) are a GOD-send! I’ve been using both consistently for 3 months now and my skin has NEVER looked or felt better! I haven’t experienced a breakout since March and more than 80% of my hyperpigmentation is GONE!
I’m so grateful to have finally found a product that actually works for my skin!
If you’re dealing with acne breakouts and hyperpigmentation, you should def research Clearly Basics.
@by.emmataylor CLEAR OUT💙💙💙 gets rid of blackheads and whiteheads which is an added bonus.
It really improved my skin texture and most of all it removed spots. It’s worth the try really, because you can even get your money back if you don’t like the products, what are you waiting for? -Emma xxx
@beas.bareskin Clearly Basics have been with me for about a week and I’m so happy I’ve been using their product!!!!!
My fave between these 3 is the “Lighten up” one because it has definitely helped with the redness! The redness on my cheeks are slowly dimming down and the texture of my skin is so soft and smooth.
You may not be able to tell cuz pictures don’t do it justice but if you were to have felt my skin before I used their products compared to now you can definitely feel the difference !!!
@hayleyfoster I’ve been using clearly range for almost 6 months now and it really has changed my life! I’ve suffered acne my whole life and although it may not be as bad as others its bad to me and has affected my life everyday. Initially my skin got better with the power duo then I seemed to go through a blip. I contacted Clearly and after sending some pics they gave me some advice and created me a more concentrated formula which worked amazingly and I can now dermaroll to help get rid of the scaring and finally feel I can leave the house without makeup!
I was skeptical to start with as I’d tried everything, been on prescription oral medication at a young age and it just came back within a year. I’ve tried all creams from GP and over counter stuff but none have worked until now with the help of clearly. If you are wonder whether to try it just give it a go! You have nothing to lose! I’m so glad I found Clearly Basics!
@carliedaniel18 I have suffered with acne since i was 13, After years of medication, and spending absolutely £1000s on products that didn’t work i decided to try prescription oral medication, and it was the hardest 8 months of my life. I got all the side affects, and even though eventually it did clear my skin after being off it for just 3 months my skin got bad again especially hormonally!
I then came across clearly basics, although the reviews were good I was very reluctant as it wasn’t cheap and could be another dud that didn’t work! Eventually I gave in as I always do and it was the best decision ever! I can’t believe I hadn’t come across this sooner, my skin has cleared up so much. It’s made my skin soft and glowy as well, it genuinely is everything in a bottle!
@roxyrogan I have struggled with hormonal acne for over 1 year and had tried every face cream, scrub & peel you could find! When I started with Clearly Basics my skin started to clear within using the first bottle of ‘Clear Out’!
My skin is now on the road to recovery and I still use Clearly Basics ‘Clear Out, Protective Moisturizer and Lighten Up’ products every day! Highly recommend Clearly Basics to anyone who’s suffering from stubborn acne! 💛
